For almost as long as FREITAG bags have been around, we’ve also been repairing them. Because it not only makes them functional again. It’s also more sustainable.

You’d like to know once and for all how a FREITAG bag is made and what our factory looks like from the inside? Then you’ve come to the right place.
RENT A BIKE
At the FREITAG stores in Zurich and Kyoto you can rent a cargo bike if you need urban transportation at a reasonable price. And in Amsterdam you can get a City Cruiser for a whole day for free.
After you’ve chosen your semi-finished products, the store crew takes over again on site with their sewing machine. And they’ll inform you when you can pick up your handiwork at the store or have it dispatched.
Doing it yourself with FREITAG
You can put together a maximum of one F740 SONNY SY, one F741 MIAMI VICE SY, and one F742 JULIEN SY.
The service offered by this FREITAG Store is available to (almost) anyone worldwide in English and German. The only exceptions are regions that offer their own FREITAG Yourself service locally. These are:
F742 JULIEN SY
The medium-size FREITAG tote bag that also functions as a backpack, in the exclusive Select-it-yourself version with an additional pouch.
How it works:
- You choose your favorite bag body, a pair of perfectly matching handles, and an additional pouch to suit your own preferences.
- The store crew will let you know when your finished bag is ready for pick-up.
Price: CHF 220.- (plus shipping costs)

F741 MIAMI VICE SY
The classic FREITAG shopper in the exclusive Select-it-yourself version with an additional pouch:

THIS IS HOW THE YOURSELF STATIONS WORK
WALK-IN
- Simply come by and pick out your pieces. You may have to wait a while at busy times.
- When you’re happy with your choice, hand the pieces to the store crew.
- They’ll let you know when your new, super-individual bag is ready to be picked up or shipped.
- Shipping costs: Switzerland CHF 10 / Europe CHF 30 / International CHF 40
VIDEO CALL
- You arrange a 20-minute online appointment via Google Form.
- We then confirm your reservation by e-mail.
- We are happy to speak English or German with you.
- You dial in via video link. The store crew will tell you exactly how.
- You select the parts, and when you’re done you’ll receive a payment request during the call.
- You can pay using one of the following payment methods: Credit Card, Apple Pay & FREITAG Wowcher.
- Once your payment is confirmed, we start sewing.
- Once your bag is ready, we’ll ship it via UPS, and you’ll receive a tracking number by e-mail.
- Shipping costs: Switzerland CHF 10 / Europe CHF 30 / International CHF 40
- Shipping outside Switzerland may incur customs charges.
- You can’t exchange or return a bag you’ve designed yourself (warranty cases excluded).
- A maximum of one video call is possible per person and week.
