THE REAL RIP-OFF
No rip-off products are currently being manufactured.
But once the disassembly team at the FREITAG factory have used brute force to relieve the tarps of their eyelets, straps and belts, they look totally different. Suddenly, the inside seems quite vulnerable and much more exciting.
Frayed strips and raw checks with rips heading in all directions now adorn the once smooth surfaces. And in keeping with our ambition to produce as little waste as possible, we used precisely this texture for the rip-offs: truck tarps that might have ended up with the rejects but looked particularly exciting on the inside were transformed into FREITAG bags turned inside out.
These products proudly bear traces of ripped-off straps and have an inner label hanging out. So, the tiny cracks and holes are integral parts of the whole and don’t get fixed.
