F622 JACK CITY is the bag that's so small you can always have it on you. And when you suddenly need to carry more than you thought, it steps up big and holds a lot.

The smart, durable alternative to a crinkly plastic bag is made from lightweight recycled nylon fabric, folds up super easily, then rolls together with a Velcro strap and a little piece of one-of-a-kind truck tarp.

And because even that wasn’t individual enough for us, we asked local artists in seven* cities to design an F622 JACK CITY. You can check out all the city editions here. But you can only buy each one at its local FREITAG store.

*Luckily for you, the thing about the seven cities isn't quite accurate. Oerlikon is just a district of Zurich. It's where the FREITAG online store is at home, which makes F622 JACK CITY OERLIKON the only one of the designer bags you can order online.

The design for the FREITAG online store shopper is from Lisa. She lives in Zurich, works at FREITAG as a space designer and loves snacking on Chirat gherkins.

For this design, Pia Graf has created three character illustrations that perfectly capture the spirit of the city:

Floor van het Nederend lives and breathes Amsterdam:

«This city means a lot to me. It inspires me time and time again and has already brought me together with countless creative people.»

For his design, he drew inspiration from the FREITAG Amsterdam Store itself and the city's typical architecture. The wavy, dreamlike elements in his design reflect his very own style, which also shows up in his paintings and comics.

«Shanghai is raw, direct and never stands still. The city draws its energy from all kinds of sources: from its speed, but also from the incredible craftsmanship behind its constantly changing landscape. I wanted to capture that vibrant dynamic in my design.»

Wanwai Shum is the artist behind the artwork on our Shanghai shopper. Originally from Canton, China, she currently lives in Rotterdam.

Her favorite food is dim sum, because no matter where she is, it reminds her of her roots and the weekends back home.

F662 JACK CITY SHANGHAI is only available at our FREITAG Store Shanghai. The store is pretty exclusive and inclusive at the same time, by the way: when it was rebuilt in 2023, debris from the previous building was reused for the new walls. The construction formwork became the new facade. And on the roof, you'll find a publicly accessible terrace with a seasonally planted, organically maintained garden.

Artist Zin Nagao loves "hiyajiru", a local specialty from Miyazaki Prefecture, more than anything. He lives and works in Fukuoka. He drew inspiration for his artwork from Tokyo’s rhythms and vibrations, plus the city’s geometric structures.

«Whenever I’m away, I can’t wait to get back. Tokyo always gives me so much.»

F622 JACK CITY TOKYO is the only designer bag you can find in two different places.

One of them was our first store in Asia. It's in a building called «a friend of Ginza», on the legendary shopping street of the same name, which is why it's called: FREITAG Store Tokyo Ginza.

The FREITAG Store Tokyo Shibuya is located in the other well-known district of the same name. It runs through the middle of an entire building and connects the streets on both sides. It’s not quite as long as a tunnel in the Alps, but there are definitely more tarp bags inside it than trucks in the Gotthard Tunnel. Go there and walk through!

This design comes from Seoul-based art directors Mat-kkal and Lucky. Their MHTL Studio fridge is always stocked with Red Bull, vitamin drinks, and kombucha. Their favorite snack is gotgam, dried persimmons that turn naturally sweet if you dry them long enough and have the patience to wait.

The two see their hometown of Seoul as an endless "fourth wall", a giant theater where the lines between the audience, the stage itself and backstage area continue to become more and more blurred:

«No matter where you go or look, the constant contrast between what's visible and what's hidden is what makes our city interesting for us. So the starting point for our artwork was Seoul itself, its raw, unpolished texture.»

The artwork for F622 JACK CITY ZURICH comes from Swiss-French graphic designer Pablo Genoux. The city he currently lives in is, for Pablo, a place of exchange that keeps giving him new impulses:
