«We prefer access to ownership.» That's from the FREITAG Manifesto, and it's how our rental service works. The launch follows a testing and piloting phase where we looked into the idea of making our bags available on a temporary basis. FREITAG RENT is part of our line-up of Circular Services.

You can fill in the rest with your memories. So, each FREITAG RENT bag can become a record of car breakdowns, vacation flirts and all the other wild and wonderful stuff that happens to the temporary owner.
HOW IT WORKS
- Go to a FREITAG store and pick out an available F512 VOYAGER RENT.
- If you don't have a FREITAG account yet, the store crew will set one up for you.
- Pay the rental deposit (see below).
- Head out with the bag for your next adventure. If you feel like it, share your trip with us at #FREITAGrent and #notmybag on Instagram or tag us directly at @freitaglab. And don't forget to write in the TRAVEL BAG DIARY!
- Bring the bag back to the same FREITAG store — whenever you're ready, but no later than 180 days — and pay the amount due.

THE COST OF FREITAG RENT
The basic bag rental fee is CNY 210. This basic flat rate covers the cost of making and maintaining the bag, cleaning and inserting the lining, all handling at the FREITAG store and four days' rental — perfect for a long weekend. From day 5 on, it's an additional CNY 24 per day, from day 15 on CNY 16 daily. And there's no problem if your travel plans change — you don't have to set a return date in advance.

No. The F512 VOYAGER RENT is designed specifically for rental and isn't for sale. But you can buy an 512 VOYAGER, which is the standard version of the same model.

If it's damaged because of misuse, you'll need to cover the repair cost. Normal wear and tear of the bag — such as a busted zip — is excluded.

You pay when you return the bag. The deposit you left is set off against the final cost.

- By renting, you agree to the FREITAG RENT terms and conditions, including what happens in case of damage or loss.
- The maximum rental period is 180 days.
- A deposit is due at pickup. It will be deducted from your final price on return or refunded if there's a difference.
- You'll need a FREITAG account to use FREITAG RENT. You can set one up in advance online or at the FREITAG store.
- Please return the bag to the FREITAG store you rented it from. At the moment, it's not possible to return it to another store.
- FREITAG RENT is available only in FREITAG stores. Online rentals are not possible at the moment.

1 Area of application
(1) The following rental conditions apply to the rental of bags or other products («rental item») by FREITAG lab. Shanghai Co. Ltd. (hereinafter the «rental company»).
2 Formation of the rental contract and handover of the rental item

(1) The renter must set up a customer account in order to take advantage of the rental company’s rental services. The renter’s official name, current address and contact details must be stored in the customer account.
(2) The rental contract is formed when the rental item is handed over.
(3) The rental item is handed over when the renter collects it from a FREITAG Store.
(4) The availability of rental items in FREITAG Stores as detailed on the rental company’s website serves to provide information for the renter and is non-binding.
(5) It is not possible to reserve rental items.

(1) The renter shall receive the rental items in a fully functioning condition.
(2) The rental items are cleaned and disinfected before each rental by the rental company.
(3) The rental items are used and may have visible signs of wear and tear or repairs.
(4) The renter is obliged to check the rental item for visible defects or dirt upon handover and to notify the rental company immediately if they notice any defects. If the renter accepts the rental item without flagging any visible defects, they shall not be entitled to a reduction due to these defects.

(1) The renter must use the rental item carefully and for its intended purpose.
(2) The renter may not change or convert the rental item in any way, nor may they affix anything to it.
(3) The renter may not remove any components of the rental item.
(4) The renter must ensure that the rental item is stored in such a way that the risk of a mix-up or theft is minimized.

(1) The rental contract shall end when the rental item is returned to a FREITAG Store in an orderly manner.
(2) The renter must return the rental item fully empty and in the same condition as when it was collected, excluding normal wear and tear.
(3) The renter must return the rental item to the same FREITAG Store from which it was collected.

(1) The rental shall begin on the date on which the rental item is handed over to the renter and shall end on the date on which the rental item is returned in an orderly manner by the renter.
(2) Partial days shall be classed as whole days.
(3) The maximum rental duration is 180 days.

(1) The rental price is governed by the rental company’s price list valid when the contract is concluded. The information in the price list is inclusive of value-added tax.
(2) The renter shall pay the rental price when returning the item to a FREITAG Store, using a payment method accepted by the store.
(3) If the rental item is not returned by the expiry of the maximum rental duration under section 6, the rental company shall charge the renter the maximum amount due, as per the price list. The invoice will be sent via email to the email address stored in the user account.
8 Collateral & deposit

(1) The rental company may request that the renter pays a deposit. This provides the rental company with collateral in the event of the rental item being lost or damaged as per section 9.
(2) When the rental item is returned in an orderly manner, the deposit is offset against the rental price due and any remainder is credited to the renter.
(3) This credit is paid via the same payment method used for the deposit.
9 Loss & damage

(1) If the rental item is lost or damaged, the rental company shall invoice the renter for its sale price or the cost of repairs, whichever figure is lower.
(2) The renter is not liable for damages due to normal wear and tear of the rental item.
(3) If the rental item is lost, the rental company must be notified in writing or in person. Damage to the rental item must be reported to store staff upon return.

(1) All rental items are owned by FREITAG lab. Shanghai Co. Ltd.
(2) The specific rental bags are not available for purchase.
