FREITAG Lucky Trucking Charms add a tad more individuality to your gear: the one-offs made of used truck tarps will customize anything that can't escape in three seconds flat. But for FREITAG, these tiny hangers-on are more than a love letter to Europe’s truck trash: The Zurich bag-makers have found a smart way to reuse production waste even more consistently.

FREITAG doesn't do hype. And it doesn’t like leftovers either. Thanks to the Lucky Trucking Charms, production offcuts are getting a second life—and short-lived bag bling is getting a timeless upgrade. These small, colorful one-offs made from used truck tarps brighten up bags and backpacks—whether they're FREITAG or not—as well as keys, bikes, Christmas trees, belts and whatever else you can think of. Use them solo or as part of a combo with other favorite trinkets.

Every charm has a personality of its own and is easy to get attached to. Like the F213 MINI MESSENGER, the new F216 MINI SHOPPER echoes a classic FREITAG bag. Both mini icons even offer a little storage space—enough for earbuds, gum or a poop bag—and are happy to moonlight as pockets. F212 FACE, meanwhile, was inspired by the rearview-mirror decorations found in trucker cabs, but is just as happy dangling cheerfully from bags, keychains and other nonmotorized stuff. These three are here to stay, with limited-edition Charms dropping in from time to time.

«At FREITAG, the mindful and resource-efficient handling of materials is the starting point for product development. Our charms are created directly from the colourful tarp remnants that are left over after cutting our bags. We hand-select the most beautiful pieces, punch them out, and create new mini-one-offs. Since every tarp carries its own story from Europe's highways, no two charms are alike», explains Anne Bachmann, Holistic Designer FREITAG.
